How to Use traqqer's Six Training Categories to See Workout Balance
Updated July 15, 2026
By the traqqer Editorial Team
traqqer menus can be assigned one of six categories: speed, endurance, strength, technique, recovery, or other. The categories are not only for organization; they make the balance of training visible.
The Six Categories
- Speed: work near maximum velocity
- Endurance: intervals, longer distances, and other stamina-focused work
- Strength: weights and general strength work
- Technique: drills and form practice
- Recovery: easy running and other recovery-focused activity
- Other: anything that does not fit the categories above
Choose the primary purpose of the session. A perfect classification is less important than a consistent, useful one.
Why Add a Category?
Once menus have categories, the calendar can color activities by type, and statistics can show the distribution as a chart. Color and proportion reveal patterns without requiring you to open every activity.
Look for Intentional and Unintentional Imbalance
A block dominated by speed with little technique or recovery may deserve review. But imbalance is not automatically wrong. Endurance may dominate in winter, while speed and technique may dominate before competition. The useful question is whether the pattern matches the current plan.
Start by Categorizing Menus
Create or edit a workout template and assign its primary category. That small step gives the calendar and statistics enough structure to support a later review.
